Simple Modern Coastal Home Architecture Designs in Scotland


The four buildings that make up the formation house Black-stained house is located in Scotland, precisely on the Isle of Skye. coastal home project was designed by Dualchas architect.


Coastal home design mimics the shape and appearance of an old black barn are commonly found near this area. House dominated by black is the original work along the coast of the island. The house is exactly located on the Isle of Skye island which is part of the Inner Hebrides. Named Colbost, this house functioned for family dwelling located on agricultural land is elevated and offers views of the Gulf of Dunvegan.

The coastal area of the house consists of four buildings, two large buildings and two smaller buildings. Two bedrooms are located in main building while next building functioned for living and dining. Meanwhile, two other smaller buildings serves as a warehouse, a place to store timber and shelter for heat pump, home design inspired by black farm barn, simple shape, but strong, steady, and solid and able to adjust to the surrounding landscape and environment.

Arrangement of four buildings in the area around the house creates a semi-private courtyard, which provides a barrier to ward off too strong winds are common in coastal areas.

Simple exterior appearance, spacious, and appears to blend with the landscape. In addition, every detail on the exterior also considered consistent with the modern architecture style.
